Droid 4 Launching on the Same Day as the Galaxy Nexus?! Or Not?

source: droid-life

The Droid 4 has emerged from the merky Android world just weeks before it is supposed to launch. The Droid 4 is what the Droid 3 should have been when it launched earlier this year. The Droid 4 looks a lot like the Razr except being thicker and contains a 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor, Verizon 4G LTE, and a slide out keyboard. All indications are that the Droid 4 is going to go on sale December 8, which also happens to be the day that the Galaxy Nexus is supposed to go on sale.

Now I have to ask myself, is Verizon really this stupid to launch to phones of this caliber at the same time? I don't think that will be an issue. It is likely that, much to everyone's dismay, the Galaxy Nexus may be pushed back a little while to accommodate the Droid 4. The Droid being a Verizon branded phone means that they will try harder to get people to buy it. I really hope it doesn't happen, but it is a very real possibility. The way Verizon has treated the Nexus so far tells me  they don't see the how many people want the phone. I also don't think they like that it is an open unlocked phone making it easy for people to tether without Verizon's curse blessing, unlike the Droid 4. Either way, I doubt there will be much more than a week between the Launches. So hopefully the fans of both Phones will not have to wait much longer.
