This week of product delays has gotten worse. Last night someone with an Asus Transformer Prime preordered from NCIX got a disturbing email saying the tablet is now delayed. According to NCIX Asus has found a problem with Wifi range and Performance on the quad core beast and has delayed the launch until they can get it up to their standards. I am torn, do I hate Asus for delaying the tablet or love them for finding a problem before launch and fixing it. I just hope that maybe Asus can get it fixed quickly this would be a hot Christmas item if they could get it fixed. I really really want this thing quick. The faster the better, but I'm glad Asus cares about getting their devices working properly before launch. Some other manufacturers should take note (ahem HTC and Motorola). Unfortunately, NCIX says that the tablet won't likely make it before Christmas.
Update: Asus has denied that there is any delay with regards to the Asus Transformer Prime. They say it is still on target to ship the week of the 19th as previously planned. An Asus spokesperson said:
I am trying to confirm who released this statement and for what purpose right now. At this point, we still show to be on schedule to start shipments the week of 12/19. I will provide an update once I have additional information. My best guess is that NCIX may have been talking about something previously that is now affecting order fulfillment for some orders as it did with Amazon. However, this is excellent news as we should have the best tablet out there before Christmas, well assuming you ordered it last month.
